The Hilton in Shanghai
economy - Hilton to open 25 hotels in China
In China's three largest cities the Hilton is going to open 25 new hotels, I read in the China travel industry blog. That means about eight or nine in Shanghai, in addition to what is now called "the" Hilton.
The Shanghai tourism authorities say that the city now has 270,000 beds available, but will need an additional 320,000 when the World Expo opens in 2010. So, for the time being, the building fever is not yet over.
