Shanghai Stock Exchange

economy - Where is all the IPO-money going to?

The stellar flight of the Chinese stock markets has been keeping me busy for a while. First, for completely ulterior motives: at Chinabiz were are setting up a Speakers Bureau with strong international connections. Our first target are the profitable foreign companies in China, who already have some experience with this business model. But, like probably a couple of thousand other people, we are sitting behind our computer, see all those capital streams and try to figure out how we can help those Chinese companies to do something sensible with their money.
Because booming stock markets is only the start of more booming industries, when things go well, of course. After more than half a decade decline it was about time they would go up again and you can only hope that this jump is more sustainable than the rollarcoaster the stock exchange was in the 1990s.
It seems that some Chinese companies are better prepared than in the previous decade, but you can never be too sure.
