internet - Slowing down of the service, earthquake
Speed of the internet has gone down dramatically over the day, while sporadic rumors about another earthquake passed by. But since even Google News is not working anymore (that kept on humming all along after the Taiwan earthquake that destroyed six undersea internet cable), I have not really a clue what is happening.
Some people suggest that China Telecom is squeezing the divert over satellites during the night to save costs. But it has never been as bad as now. If it would not be cold and late at night, I would go for a long walk. This is really annoying. No reason to suggest the deterioration of the internet service and the earthquake have a relation, but being deprived of information is so last century.
Update: Well, at least no new disaster: internet is back at 'normal' speed.
