The power of a blog entry

You want another example to illustrate why it is better not to ignore weblogs? Listen.
A few years ago I made in an entry at my weblog fun about a colleague, working for one of the word's major news outlets, when he got the figures about the number of Chinese internet users very wrong. It was a smallish subject and I had forgotten about it, until I got an email today with the request to, please, please, take the entry off.
For two years, every time he googled his name, my little nasty entry showed up as the first hit. His media organization must have employed busloads of search engine optimizers, but they were unable to get their media organization higher than my little weblog.
I have taken the entry off, although it goes against the bloggers-code of not deleting anything unless you are ordered by a court. I wonder if Google is likewise merciful, but I will check every now and then.

"entry at my weblog" is clickable but since you removed the entry it's redirecting to your actual blog. So now I really wonder ....ABOUT WHO OR WHAT WAS THAT ENTRY?

Just guess, a few more people have asked that question. I do not want to hurt a good career even more. :-)
