Jack Ma's big day
The media are paying rightfully tribute to Alibaba's Jack Ma, now his company is going public on November 6 in Hong Kong, already 50 times oversubscribed. Ma has created with Alibaba.com and Taobao.com what is most likely going to be China's largest internet company.
Because of Ma's strong leadership capacities he might be, more than other Chinese internet companies, be able to become also a global player.

Jack might be a strong leader and do extremely well in China, but I doubt if he can be successful outside China. You need a different skill set for that. The exact reason why successful foreign managers often fail in China. If Alibaba wants to expand Jack will need to hire some experienced managers abroad, and be willing to listen to them.
