Breaking news: Ken Carroll has a blog

For somebody who is so dedicated to the new media as Ken Carroll, it took him a long time to get online with his weblog. But now it is there, hitting out to The Economist, in a great bloggers' tradition of setting the mainstream media straight.
I love the Economist, but it ran an incredibly weak article today - False Eastern promise whose sub-heading tells us that the ‘craze for teaching Chinese may be a misguided fad’. The craze for teaching Chinese may just be a fad? May be a fad?

This Economist article clearly shows why snooty western countries are going to and have been suffering in China so badly. They refuse to understand that they are going to be the ones "sucking-up" in the future. Anyone who has done serious negotiating with Chinese in ANY business matter will soon find out that there is only one winner in any negotiation, and believe me it'll never be the other guy. Those Brits are going to have to fashion another Opium War to come out looking good in the future. But beware on the Thames, this isn't the same China that was easily conquerable with guns when they were only holding sharp sticks!
