Fed up with the Tibet discussion

One of the interesting stuff emerging with the Tibet crisis is the fierce debate between those defending the official Tibetan viewpoint and those defending the official Chinese viewpoint. But I have missed much of the initial debate and those who are following it more closely, like Danwei, are already fed up with it.
It's a little like discussing Israel and Palestine: everybody seems to have made up their mind in advance.
Update: One of the better analyses I have seen on the Tibet issue.
