CB013130Image by Crazy AP via FlickrSalaries in China's larger cities have gone up 18.72 percent in 2007 compared to 2006, writes the official news agency Xinhua, based on figures of the national bureau for statistics. In the previous six year, the annual increase was 14 percent. The 2007 figures was corrected for inflation, so the actual increase might be higher.
That increase is still pale compared to the increase in profits for the state-owned enterprises, the same source reports. Their profits went up to 2.3 billion Renminbi (US$ 327.6 million), an increase of 36.7 percent, compared to 2006.
