Gemme at Shanghai China Snippets now advises to download a new tool for translating Chinese-English-Chinese.For this new tool Google teamed up with the Chinese company Kingsoft and that might have a positive effect on the whole systems. I just started to download the stuff and will give a review later. Any experiences are welcome here. You can go here for the download directly.
Update: it is a bit of a download: 23 Mb and the download process is far from flawless.

Download without problems in 10 seconds. I don't find the program very useful for my purpose and have deleted it; I will continue to use Google Translation on line (so far the best translation available), as well as Babylon for quick search of words / short phrases.
