by CokeeOrg via FlickrThis morning my guide for logistical affairs, Allroadsleadtochina, offered a link to DHL's emergency measures to organize its service during the Beijing Olympics. I saw that others picked up the link, so limited myself to sending a link off over my twitter-account (@fonstuinstra) and my friendfeed (@fons). (Sorry, I skipped Facebook). Since this world is expected to be flat, I thought most interested people would have have seen the links already.
Boy, was I wrong. We might all be rather well connected, but we are still able to miss crucial information, in this case on the Beijing Olympics. I see it happening in logistics, but also in the ongoing visa saga: people have a hard time to find information, even if it is available.
So, here is what I'm going to try: I will skip the sport information, but will start sending out useful information over both twitter and friendfeed on the Beijing Olympics and its fallout; for big things and whenever it is useful, I will make entries and summeries on this weblog, changing those communication channels into a kind of Olympic information center.
I might be able to answer some of the basic questions myself, but will push any questions into this system, hope that others pick it up and I can report about this again. Not sure where this all will end, but it might be worth a try. Do link up with me and send me your information, questions, comments and corrections to my informal Olympic information center, for anything apart from sport.
