Google Analytics offers a wealth of data, and now and then we want to share them with you. Today, the top-10 visitors for November 2011 by country. From our observations, those data are not always flawless, but since they are the only we have, we will stick to them for the time being.
Our top-10, by country
- United States
- Germany
- China
- United Kingdom
- France
- Canada
- Indonesia
- Australia
- The Netherlands
- Russia
Since we expect that many of our visitors in China use a VPN to avoid the internet filters, we expect that much of that traffic is registered under different countries. We are not surprised the United States are no.1, since they have the largest English-speaking internet audience. But we also expect that the US figures hide some of the VPN-traffic.
When we would add the European countries - a highly politically incorrect act - Europe would be number two, behind the US. When we deduct some of the US-traffic from VPN-services, it would explain why we get slightly more leads in Europe, compared to the US.
We are amazed about the relative high position of Indonesia (where would India be then?) and have no real explanation, unless some of the VPN services would use Indonesian IP addresses to divert the traffic.
Also, the Netherlands is relatively high. It cannot be our own traffic, since we have operations in Belgium, Switzerland and the US. Neither Belgium or Switzerland show up in the top-10.
