internet - China's users spend 50 pct more, of what?

Between all the figures about the booming internet in 2006, one I found remarkable. China's internet users, on average young and penniless, have been spending 50% more on purchases at the internet in 2006, reports AFX, quoting the Internet Society of China. Average expenditure is 170 yuan per user per month.
Say, for this January that would be 170 yuan times 136 million is a 23 billion yuan or three billion USD. Since that has to be divided over connection costs (120 yuan per month for a basic adsl connection in Shanghai), gaming and online shopping, we can safely say that apart from the telecom operators, it is still very hard to make money from the Chinese internet users.
