China's top media ignore Birma crisis

As the protests in what formerly was known as Birma continue and have thrown the country in a chaos, I made a small tour around the most important Chinese English-language media to see how they cover this potential overthrow of the sitting government.
I checked the sites of the People's Daily, the China Daily, the Shanghai Daily and CCTV. One of the leading international stories is not mentioned are their main pages. This is the effect of censorship. Even the world has to look harmonious.

Update: A day later and some of the media are bringing stories, mostly following the official line of the current regime, without giving any background or numbers.

You are right. I used the Dutch spelling, in English it should be Burma.
