Having a break in Macao

Global Voices is diving into a brawl between a hundred mainland tourists and their tour guides in Macao, turning into a fight with the riot police. The reactions on the internet are very divided.
To be honest, I had expected such kind of incidents much earlier. We all know the scenes of meek tourists being herded by their guides to shopping opportunities, where they would expect to get kickbacks. Some of us might actually have been part of those cheaply organized tours.
Now the Chinese tourist make up for many of those meek sheep, although they do have a rather short fuse and when the interests of the tourists and the guides divert, a heavy-handed conflict is not far away. I expect more of these.

Interesting development indeed, Hong Kong had a few cases as well regarding some bad practices.

On the other side, I suggest you look at the sales prices of those trips. Some of them are seriously cheap priced that anyone should be suspicious if there is any catch.

Maybe the Chinese consumer isn't that much aware yet of those practices....altough I doubt that.
