Criteria for the Olympic Information center

:en:11th Dalai LamaNo Olympic news
via Wikipedia
As some of you have noted, since over a week I have been collecting on an almost daily basis the links to the conversations on the Beijing Olympics, called rather pretentiously the Olympic Information Center. It started as an experiment as I discovered that many people in my different networks missed out on sometimes interesting stories. So, I decided to make the world a little bit flatter by sharing the links I was seeing anyway.
Thanks to several remarks I had to clarify a bit the criteria for this service. The criteria are not set in stone, but since they make sense for me, I will share them with you:
  • It should not be about sport; as soon as sport is being mentioned I lose my interest and others can do that better;
  • There should be a clear link with the Beijing Olympics; many media, activists or others just add the Olympics, even though there is no clear link (say, the talks with the Dalai Lama, inflation, non-related human rights issues);
  • The source should be linkable and in English;
  • The information should had some additional information and not just cut-and-paste other sources (I can do that myself)
Do not hesitate to send me links I might have missed that might be useful for this service.
I'm using friendfeed (@fons) to collect the links and if you cannot wait for my daily update, you can subscribe to my feed at friendfeed.
