The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has decided yesterday not to vote on the controversal draft labor law, the China Daily reports. They have been discussing a second, amended draft after a first draft was submitted last December.
Xin Chunying, deputy director of NPC's Law Committee, yesterday said members agree that it is urgent to have a contract law to protect workers' rights as it is a matter of public interest and social stability.
