internet - MySpace entering China
Ah, still so much news that is long overdue. Sage Brennan wrote about the "typhoon" MySpace approaching China. Its landfall is certainly going to be interesting. Can a huge US internet company, owned by Rupert Murdoch, make an impacts. Both huge US internet companies (sorry in Europe we only have very few) and Murdoch have both miserably failed in the past in China. Can they win when they come together.
MySpace, says the well-informed Brennan, is going after 140 million internet users, placing it in the top-league of internet companies in China. Of course, now the investors go crazy.
But for the time being, there is no reason to be overly optimistic about its chances. It will certainly encourage the competition.
Update: Danwei has more on it.
